GTA 6 on PC: What Take-Two Has Said, and What Is Only Guesswork

“When is GTA 6 coming to PC?” is one of the most searched questions about the game, and one of the least answered. This page lays out what is on the record, what history suggests, and where claims turn into guesses.

Confirmed: the announced platforms

Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 announcement says the game launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It names no other platform, and it does not mention a PC version, either to confirm or to rule one out. PlayStation’s own post likewise covers only consoles.

So the accurate statement today is: no PC version has been announced, and no PC release date exists.

Reported: what executives have said

Secondary coverage of Take-Two’s May 2026 earnings call, such as this GTABoom report, says the company’s CEO was asked about a PC version and did not commit to one, saying Rockstar would share more when ready. The same outlet’s analysis notes that the company’s product release table lists only the two consoles. We read these as reports of what was said, not as a primary transcript, and we recommend checking Take-Two’s investor-relations page for the company’s own wording.

History: how Rockstar has handled PC before

Rockstar’s recent big games came to PC after their console launches, not on the same day:

  • Grand Theft Auto V: released on consoles in September 2013 and on PC in April 2015, about nineteen months later.
  • Red Dead Redemption 2: released on consoles in October 2018 and on PC in November 2019, about a year later.

Those are real precedents, but they are two data points under different circumstances, not a rule.

Speculation: what that might mean

Everything below is our inference, not information from Rockstar.

  • Most likely, if a PC version comes at all: it follows the console launch by months, based on the two precedents above. Nothing guarantees it.
  • What would change our view: an announcement from Rockstar or Take-Two, a PC listing on a storefront, or a Rockstar post naming PC. A rumor, a leak or a hardware maker’s comment would not.
  • Older claims: some earlier articles quoted a hardware company’s executive about a PC launch. Those did not hold up and should be ignored.

Spotting fake PC claims

  • Keys and downloads: any site selling a PC key, beta access or a “launcher” for a game that has no announced PC version is not legitimate. Do not pay or download.
  • Requirement lists: published PC system requirements for an unannounced version are invented.
  • Check the source: a real announcement appears on Rockstar’s own site and in Take-Two’s press releases, not only on a video thumbnail.

If you play on PC

Ask yourself whether you can wait. If you can, there is no cost to waiting for an official answer. If you cannot, the confirmed options are the two consoles. Our starting guide covers the launch date, platforms and editions, and our hardware availability page covers consoles.

If you are playing on console, the full plan for November 19 is in our complete GTA 6 launch guide.
